Last Friday, OPS & I brought 40 students from the school to witness The SYF Parade Opening ceremony 2008 @ the Spore Indoor Stadium. The group consisted of 3 UGs, 50% from NPCC, chiefly to support 2 of our Sgts who were in the GOH contingent. It was definitely the highlight of the ceremony to see them marching past us ever so smartly and proudly.
Of coz watching Tabitha & Nicole Tay, our own twin dynamo gymnast, descending from the air during the finale performance, was another highlight for me..hehe
Anyway, my Sgts looked extremely smart in the white crisp uniform, making the other cadets green with envy cos they got the opportunity to don the GOH uniform.
However, after the ceremony, there was a long wait to get to the exit cos human traffics had started outside the venue..so what did we do to while our time away. We goofed around to make the wait more bearable..hehe..let the pictures do the talking.

 I have been looking for a tenant to rent the extra room i have since I know that i will be on a no-pay leave soon. It will start from August onwards when my life as a poor student restarts...
Someone looked at my room last nite , love the room & immediately agreed to take it on and moved in this morning. That was how swift the transaction was. The last address he was staying, has increased the room by almost 50% more, that he felt to move is mandatory.
Now my extra room is OCCUPIED!

I REALLY MISS MY HC EX-NEIGHBOUR!!
... REALLY!!
When school starts, a relief teacher took over the very seat that my HC neigbour once resided ..but it would NEVER be the same. On the 1st day she had already pissed the tranquil lady on her right.
Yesterday, as the ever helpful TA was about to assist me with some IT matters, she interrupted us & said as she was still holding the phone that she was looking for the TA too..& droned on with her request :
1) A laptop
2) An edumail account
3) A sharing folder...
&..HEAR THIS , the last request WAS THE BEST!!
4)A HEADPHONE ..& then she added , "...its rather NOISY here..!".
Defintely loud enuf for my other neighbours to hear, Bernice's mum & the newly wed, & of cos me!
"Headphone??"..our TA echoed in stupefaction!!
We were perplexed with her request too...!!
Like what Bernice's mummy said pertinently..." I"ll talk as loud as i want, whenever i want it..without anybody's permission...!!"
..or to that upshot...hehe..i've learnt from my HC ex-neigbour to add extra spice or many degrees higher when retelling a story.
Well..we all miss my HC ex-neighbour already!!!

I received a very pleasant surprise this afternoon.. a very belated birthday gift from a dear friend who hasnt been around for the longest time.
Thank You maam..it was very thoughful of you.
Today was her first day in school since the school starts..& she looks as radiant and ravishing as ever.
She told me to immediately open her present , afraid that i might have what she had meticulously wrapped this time round. I was so ecstatic that it was another crumpler..an additional to my collection of at least 18 pieces of CRUMPLER items which include sling bags, water bottle holder, bean bags & a few limited editions & a personalised piece.
TERIMA KASIH PUAN TAN..u put me in a rapturous mood.

My HC ex neighbour achieved her high when she managed to scale the natural rock wall of Batu Caves, during the SL trip exactly a week ago. However, my high for that trip was more manageable and less strenuous. I didnt expect flying a kite could be an unwinding experience as i witnessed it soared up into the sky & became less visible, until there wasnt any more line to ascend it higher..
I felt lousy that i didnt push myself to shin myself up those rocky, sharp and towering natural rock wall of Batu caves..maybe if there is an another opportunity , i would definitely do it again, do it better..Labels: School

I finally unearthed my tennis rackets among the debris in my other room. Still in its tennis bag and many balls that have not touch the earth for at least a decade..that was how long i last played tennis before joann jio-ed me for a game a few weeks ago. Although it was tiring...like hell...i enjoyed it when my muscle started aching..that i yearned for more.
Well..was looking at some tennis racket the other day, when an ex-colleague told me not to waste money but to just replace my grip and restring if neccessary. I will return to him to have it done & i am ready to go..hehe..
When i was in WOS, the environment was more sporty..rollerblade on Saturdays..tennis on Wednesday nites..and perhaps wake boarding on Sundays...wat a healthy lifestyle!! That was when i was at 15kg lighter...HAHA.. anyway with me becoming a full time student again, i really hope i can do them in a more regular basis...picked blading again..maybe also go fly kite..like what i did in Muar during the SL trip. I became the 1st visitor to my HC ex-neighbour's new office. It lacks soul, tho i was glad that some of my gifts were being displayed quite prominently throughout her office. Her name was not even pasted on the door yet..i was just afraid she might get bored when she has no one to share the latest & the juiciest informations ...hehe.. The new term for the trainees has not started yet, therefore it was rather quiet throughout the campus. I went to the National Museum on Thursday afternoon, after NE workshop, for the learning journey...so much have changed sinced i last visited it..when i was a student on a school excursion.
It was a rather short & hurried visit, that i felt it wasnt explored thoroughly and exhaustively.
I really enjoyed myself, was deeply immersing myself in the history of Singapore & little details that few knows when i received an SMS to gather at the designated meeting place.
I will definitely visit it again..soon..with my nieces maybe.. to engage ourselves fully in Singapore history.Labels: School

This trip is going to be my last trip with SL comm. too. As much as i enjoy the trip, i will miss working with the teachers of the SL comm most, everybody with their own special traits.

Finally found the ring i lost during the NCOs camp 2 years ago. It was in 2006, ZY & gang's batch, when i absent mindedly put it in the toiletries bag after shower & forgotten all about it. I just came back..yes again..from another school trip. This time with another group of students , the SL com. We went kayaking, rock climbing @ BAtu Caves and then proceed on to do the indoor obstacles courses. Visited Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Pekan Baru Muar on our final day just now. We were entertained by a Zapin dance performance by the students and of course i flew a kite that went really up in the sky. Will update soon when i finish doing my laundry...hehe Labels: School

I was invited to witness the OCS Commisioning Parade of the 69/07 intake last nite with OPS. It was the commissioning our ex student-cum-cadet-cum-CI as an Officer in the SAF, the newly minted 2nd LTA Lee WL.
The ceremony was very formal and very meaningful to both the new officers and their family. The blessing by different religious leaders on all the new officers was the most momentous and poignant part of the ceremony.
But of course the tossing of the peak caps by all graduands after affixing the Officer rank epuletttes by family members, was a signaficant gesture that most new officers look forward to, symbolising a new chapter in their army life.
Congratulations Officer Lee.
His family, elder brother, girlfriend & of cos his teachers were there to witness this noteworthy moment of his life.

Before I slept last nite, I had mentally planned my schedule for the next day, after friday prayer to go Art Sign, then meet Miss Chin @ Ikea & then maybe catch a midnite movie with some frens.
However woke up late, almost noon feeling lethargic and lazy, washed up & rushed for my Friday Prayers. Received sms from Miss Chin to meet her later @ 4pm, so dropped by @ sister's place near mosque to kill time. Well after lunch, some home cooked meal...feeling well-fed and satisfied, cancelled appointment with Miss Chin & lazed some more till 6 & realized that Art Sign will be closed in an hours' time..so decided not to go at all.
Haha...realized have accomplised nothing for the whole day..so brought my nieces to the supermarket, bought some snacks & a few bottles of the new sparkling Ribena...& headed home...super slacked day..hehe..
Anyway...decided to catch that movie afterall, a few SMSes, booked the tickets online & prata after the movie.

Another birthday last nite, my niece's, Syahindah, 9th birthday. I have 19 nieces & nephews, that i need to be reminded about their birthdays but of course they all remembered mine..hehe
It is always an informal celebration when my sister will buy a cake & my other nieces, & this is enough to cause a din when all the cousins meet, chat, play and exchange stories. This is also the time when i realised that they are all growing up so fast before my eyes.
This Saturday, is gonna be another birthday, my nephew's , Daniel, 4th birthday..more food & laughter..hehe

I received an sms last nite that read ;
" Hei, i got the offer to do the BA programme..i gez we gonna b classmates"
It was from my TT, who did his teaching practice in my school & was posted back to my school before he got news that he was accepted to do BA too. I guess we are going to be classmates afterall.
However, i received another sms rite after his, that read;
" It was ur fault..of cox i noe its good for him...but..bla bla....i m sad for myself...bla..bla.." a rather long sms i must add...hehe
I think i have a responsibility to write a ggod report for my TT..& extremely happy for him.
Anyway, i think my colleague & my Head ..will have another added headache now..when relief for Art is a rare find.Labels: School

After the meeting on Monday @ my place, ZW & KW announced that it will be their birthdays the next day. Yes, they shared the same birth date which they discovered only earlier this year. KW suggested they could celebrate with a cake the next day @ the same venue..well why not..hehe..
Only Bren decided to show up..but it was definitely a memorable bday for both ZW & KW coz they get to sample my culinary skills..my 1st ever..
Well on my bday last month, I received a sleek looking rice cooker & 2 packets of rice from my beautiful friends. So I tot, it was the best time to try out my new toy after i have found myself 3 willing guinea pigs...hehe...no offence
It turned out well, better than i have expected. My first attempt in cooking chicken rice was a success, together with baby kailan with minced chicken in oyster sauce and grilled chicken.
Yummy if u should ask me...hehe ..Ask my guests too. They would definitely agree!Labels: npcc

This holiday has been a spring cleaning session for me, both at home & in the office. When i started cleaning my table in the staff room, i inevitably have to bring back things home, hence creating more space at home is mandatory. I guess that also forced me to clear away unwanted goods at home, I've thrown away many past editions magazines, which i can buy as many as 8 copies each month. Cleared my study area in my bedroom too and bought more fancy boxes to neaten my walk-in wardrobe.
Well, tidying up my walk-in was another headache, i discovered that after colour-coding my hanged clothes, i realised i have many forgotten tshirts...hehe..more to toss away.
My tiny collection of ladybirds from the office also needed to be relocated, therefore i shifted a few shoes, & created space for them in my shoe cabinet. Well, no more new shoes for me in many months to come..or i have to sacrifice my ladybirds & let them fly away.

After tennis last nite , i rushed home coz our HO wanted to meet the NCOs for a meeting. She wanted to start early on the UOPA, also to delegate jobs on the new hierarchy chart. Since our HO was only free after 7pm due to her work attachment , i suggested my place for the meeting venue, comfortable and cosy. Of coz, i need to speak to many parents who were doubtful that a meeting was held at an odd timing and even unusual venue..hehe..
As promised, @ 10 pm after meeting all the agendas and a home-cooked dinner, my NCOs were dismissed home.

I woke up & my body is all aching..especially my shoulder & my arm. It was a good game tho, better than my run. It has been years since i last picked up my tennis racquet & when I suggested to Miss Kuek , she agreed immediately. She has been taking tennis lesson religiously lately & i need to re-start a healthy life style..hehe.
It was a vigorous game, tiring of cox.. & i think i have lost 500gm..hehe..just look at our exhausted faces.

Decided to put on my shoes & use them for what they were meant to be for..running.
Bought them at a discounted price of $150..2 months ago. Mr H said i need to run at least 150 times to make my money worth..hehe

Attended a Mixed-Media Techniques workshop yesterday organised by STAEDTLER, the colour pencils people. Well the door gift was fantastique, which included a box of soft pastels, poster colours , coloured fibre-tip pens, among others but the course didnt really cater to secondary school art teachers. I felt it was more suitable for primary school teachers.
I attended a similar workshop organised by LYRA, another big name in color pencils, last year with equally fantastique door gifts. However, i felt that course was more appropriate to secondary school teachers as the artist demonstrated and showcased his product well, & @ the same time sharing his skills with the participants.

Before we headed home on the 3rd day, we tracked to a nearby Waterfall Trek..but only managed a single photo before my camera went dead...hehe.. Some of us, me included, dipped into the icy cold water ..but didnt stay long coz we had shopping to do in KL.
We definitely missed Maam Kuek & Maam Tan,
We really wished they were there with us..especially this gonna be my last trip with NPCC..
Anyway, after shopping in Mid Valley Mall..it was more eating & sleeping in the bus. I accidentally sat on JC's box of donuts & completely flatened them. However, it tasted even more delicious to ZY and RY..hehehe.
Some chose to play their PSP, while others decided to carry on playing ' PEPSI_COLA 1.2.3.' on the bus, using our palms instead of our feet..it was hilarious & definitely created much din and hubbub on the bus. We were definitely creative in adapting games to suit the environment, just like the last nite we were in Gopeng when we played captain's ball using ping pong ball, due to limited space. It was definitely a spectacle to watch..especially between the 3 levels..with everyone getting so competitive and aggressive.
After asserting all our energy, it was back to snooze-land, in all style and position..some elegant ..some awkward...others just peaceful.
This is my 6th trip with NPCC in my 7 years in ZH...& i think this was my BEST TRIP EVER!!

We went for a cave exploration in Gua Tempurung on our 2nd day in Gopeng. We have to climb more that 640 steps, admired the magnificance of nature's art thru the formation of limestone and marble created in million years.
We needed to slide down 10 metres to reach the lower part of the cave, slither through a hole and even swam our way before we could reach the exit. We were blessed that we had our helmets on coz many a times, we hit our head against the cold hard rocks..
It was really a really wild , wet & fun experience.
After lunch we proceeded on for the Whitewater Rafting, where we tackled 22 rapids on Sungai Kampar.
NO PICTURES cos my camera is too precious..hehe
However, Mr OPS went manoverboard twice, while i went once!
We were accompanied by abled and skillful guides who expertly maneuvered the boat across the river , made more delicate and trickier with bolders and huge pebbles as obstacles. It started to rain during the rafting, that we were required to stop, for safety reason, in case of sudden increase in water tide.

Upon arrival in Gopeng, we were transfered on to another to bring us to our campsite, My GOPENG RESORT. The most exciting part of this journey was the vehicle that brought us there, a small lorry that reminded us of live stocks that were about to be sent to the slaughter house.
It was really an exhilarating bumpy ride, with the wind in our face and a breathtaking scenery to boost, it was a ride that will stay in our mind for a long time. Someone likened the ride to a rollercoster, i couldnt agree more. However, i felt it was more elating and invigorating that that, as we had to dodge leaves and branches along the route. Our poor HO, being the tallest amongst us had the rare chance of having slapped many times over...hehe
While waiting for dinner, OPS and other officers explored the area , while i tried my hands on the many games made available there with the NCOs..table tennis, volleyball and pool.

This was the first time that 3 levels of NPCC NCOs embarked on an Overseas Trip. This was also our first time to don on our new yellow unit tshirt. The journey from Spore to Gopeng Perak took an approximate 8 hours with two stops for breakfast and lunch.
During the long journey , there was really nothing to do but sleep and eat, sleep some more and of coz more photo taking. I was glad that the three levels interacted and bonded well.

Reached Singapore from Gopeng Perak 2 hours way ahead of schedule. We definitely had fun. I wil update more on the trip after i've done all my laundry from the trip...hehehe
