Alhamdullilah...received my test back.
Its for AAE103..its all about transcriptions, assimilations, deletions and intonation.
I am realli bad at this..
BUT surprised! Surprised!
I passed...better than expected.
WOw!! the feeling was great!
Well..now waiting for the real exams next week!!
I must really really do it well..

It had been a hectic, crazy and sleepless week for me...almost drowned...haha..one presentation plus a test & 4 assignments due this week alone...looking at the deadlines made me nausea.. Anyway..2 assignments that are due this Friday, 040409, have been postphoned to a later date...hurray!!..now i can breathe regularly leow...seriously. The Almighty is showing pity on me..i believe.

She is a classmate in most of my modules..3 classes to be exact..who always tries to impress the lecturer ...an A student always doin more than required...BUT BEHAVE like a Normal technical student.
It was a tiny..dust speck in size..blown into whole big humongous proportion.
It was really a misunderstanding, my friend and i were wrongly implicated.She was also a returning teacher like me but I handled it better that her, she was shaken, teared and troubled by the whole incident..unfortunately she is stucked to do a final project with this so-called A student.
Aiyahh..writing about it makes me boiling with anger..

I received a call from a classmate during a group meeting..
'I lost my whole bag..somebody took my whole bag!!"..she sounded frantic.
I quickly rushed to see her at the school library & tried to calm her.
It was a clean sweep..the thief took my friend's bag, a laptop at the next table and another bag near by.
I tried to look for her bag along the book aisle, in the male toilets and even trashbags...just in case..to no avail. I guess the library is not a safe place afterall...aiyah!!Labels: NIE

AAE203 Interview on Language Acquisition - 1st part to be done later at 10am.
I cant hardly breathe...a fren invited me for a movie last weekend, had to decline gently cos i do not want to feel guilty when i have to rush the assignments upon reaching home.
The Academic Art modules are also making my white hair more visibles..
AAA203 Short video assignment - in Progress- due after recess, seems a long way to go..but the process is taking a longer time..

It has been almost a week since i last upated this blog.
It has been madness in school..
Monday is SIMPLY CRAZEEE..starts at 8.30am...stretched till 7.30pm b4 needing to rush for my nite class...almost 11pm when i reached home.
Readings have been piling...more added each week..was on MC last week after suffering with a leaking nose for almost 2 long weeks..

It was Monday Morning Madness.
my class starts at 8.30am till 9.30am.
A 2 hour break & followed by a lecture at 11.30am to 12.30am
A very long rest till my next lecture at 6.30pm. A good 6 hours break. I thought i will take an hour lunch break & then followed by some reading readings in the library as i refused to go home for many reasons..laziness is one of them.
Anyway, i received a call from a CC than my new class starts on the same day @ 7.30pm. I panicked, my lecture ends at 7.30 & it was simply impossible to start at that time, putting into consideration the travelling time & the possibility of peak hours heavy traffic...aiyah...
Reaching the CC at 8.15pm, i have to explain myself although i have contacted the CC to inform of my late arrival.
The class was rather understanding, & accepted my apologies as we worked a new timing due to my commitment in school. HOWEVER, there was this rather educated-looking lady who turned nasty & seemed to pick on my teaching, my introduction of the lesson & even the way i tried to familiarize myself with the names of the participant...KNN..and of course she left rudely in the middle of my class.
However, she had decided to withdraw from my class..ALHAMDULLILAH..at least i dun have a smart Alec in my class no more.Labels: NIE

Exactly in a week's time, the new term will start in NIE. However being the blur me..i have forgotten to register for all my modules. Therefore, a personal time table was not make available for me..aiyah!! Anyway, i have to wait for the allocated add/drop timing next week to register for all my subjects...just hope that i wil remember this time round..hahahaLabels: NIE

Was mugging..for my exam when it striked..one time..two times...3rd...empat..i lost count already. I dont think it got anything to do with my dinner..or perhaps i was just too nervous due to the exams. I have visited the rest room many times throughout the night..MANY TIMES. It has very long since i last sat for a major examinations...but i never have such problems before.
Nevertheless..i must be strong & endure..hehe

I had my 1st presentation for my Communication Skills module last week. We were to present a 3 minutes oral presentation, on the topic randomly given to us by our tutor.
My task - To embark on a USE YOUR HANDS CAMPAIGN
MY audience - Primary 5 students.
I think i did rather well.

I have managed to squeeze in 2 interviews when i attended Cloe's Birthday. Last evening, Mr & Mrs Koh agreed to be interviewed for my Educational module project.
Thank you very much.
The interviews were on 'Thinking through inquiring' and 'Experiential Learning'.
I am yet to catch 2 more to complete my interviews segment.

Was simply overwhelmed with the amount of readings needed for any assignments given & tutorials too. I supposed im a little rusty already...hehe.
4 assignments handed in already..2 more due in a week's time.
When i share this with my ex-students, they laughed at me...& really empathised with me.
Furthermore i think i really missed the classroom interactions that i have been familiar with for the last 7 years...me as the teacher NOT the student..HAHALabels: Me, NIE

Was having tutorial yesterday morning, when my classmates offered me some candy as the tutorial gets dryer than the hays on a summer morning..hehe.
Anyway, the sweet wrappers seemed more interesting that the power point slides that were being projected. I think she might have bought them in Indonesia..every wrapper has a different words of wisdom...to make our tutorial bearable..

Its still early on a Saturday morning..slept very late & woke up real early. Still exausted from last nite's race & here i am in school overseeing the Annual NCO camp..more about that in my next post.
Last Friday evening, me & my frens, Mr H, Miss N, Miss G and my HC ex neighbour, took part in NIE Director's Race 2008, also a charity drive in Aid of Singapore Chidren's Society.
We were given 2 hours & 20 minutes to explore 6 destinations within the NIE vicinity & performed tasks that included making clay pots, drawing portraits of team members, solving rush hours and answering some real difficult questions in the library. Being a competitive team, led by an equally competitive team leader, the sole NIE staff, we managed to come in 1st in a time of 1hour & 14 minutes.
However,the winner was based on the total marks accumulated from the tasks in each station & not time taken..nevertheless we came in 1st runner up losing to a team who came in 30minutes later than us.
We won a cash price of $200..yaahoooo!!!...i've never won anything bigger than a $10 shopping voucher in occasional lucky draws during Teachers' Day dinner...hehe
Anyway.. i guess it was my lucky day afterall, after the prize presentation, i was rushing to get back to school to join the NPCC camp.
When Miss G insisted that we stay back for the Top 3 prizes,
I pointed out,
" Aiyahh...sure cannot win one lah..top prize some more..!!"
and i walked away...
however Miss G excitedly called out to me..
"Sham! Sham! Your number!!.."
My tag J102, had just won the 2nd prize!
Yiipeeeeeee!!A $400 NTUC voucher!!
That is at least a good 2 weeks of free groceries...hehe..
I always tell my cadets when i sent them for competition that winning is always a bonus...well i guess this BONUS is sweet & good!Labels: Friends, NIE

My tutorial starts at 2.30pm today, tho i had a chance to catch up with my beauty sleep..i have decided the nite before that i must go for a run. Woke up later than usual, awoken by OMY, abt bus booking..aiyah. .
Anyway tho it was already 10am, i dragged myself out of bed, washed up & put on my running gear & my Gel Nimbus. My friends always said that i have to run many kms with my Nimbus to make the purchase worth..well i guess i have to run longer especially if my class starts later..Labels: NIE

Back to School as a Student
This morning was my first day in school..as a student. The feeling was just different when i now sit on the opposite side of the classroom. I had to answer questions, stay attentive on my seat & even volunteered to be a group leader for a group presentation, a part of the module.
A few students sms-ed inquiring me about my 1st day in campus...thank u guys for the concern..
Met a few acquaintance, an ex colleague, even an ex student doin the different programmes at campus.
Had lunch with my HC ex-neighbour who is now a lecturer there & explored the place a bit for the impending Director's Challenge Race...hehe
