FISH MARKET
Went to fish market for the 2nd time 2 nites ago with ex- colleagues & soon to be ex-colleagues. A colleague, a frequent absentee to such gathering was again absent...to view potential greener pastures..to join the rank of ex colleagues..hehehe
Anyway, it was always good to meet up & enjoy good food. However, the company is always more important than the spread on the table.
It was also to celebrate the very belated bdays of our two Cancerian friends.

Received a whole set of art materials from a colleague as a parting gift before i start a new chapter as a student. You name anything an art student needs, i got it, thanks to GV.

This is my last week in school, looking back to 7 years ago..i cant help feeling nostalgic.
Over the weekend, i picked up my all-time favourite VCD when a stall was having a clearing stock sale.
Just watched it again..& all good memories kept flooding back..
I watched it first with a few colleagues when i first came to ZSS .
SERENDIPITY means fortunate accident according to Sara, the female lead.. look out for the meaning yourself.
Well, watching it again i've discovered something new yet exciting. Sarah wrote her name in a book, the same book i gave my HC ex-neighbour last year. This movie just gets better...it brought back so much memories..

It was a success.
The 2nd Inter UG Speed Climb Challenge organised by NPCC was a success as it was well supported by other UGs, Scouts, NCC, Red Cross and Girl Guides.
Thank you guys. Thank you very much.
Also to our referee from GG, Mdm LWq who had to work overtime ..hehe..terima kasih. Also to our inhouse photographer Ms K..xie xie.
Even my HOD CCA was there to support the event & the ever supportive P was present, to give away the trophies to the winners. Congratulations to all.

My students have commented that my blog has been rather somber lately.
Is it because they know that i am leaving..or because..
Anyway, as i was looking at my vast collection of photographs that i've accumulated over the years..i realized there were many happy and cheerful pictures instead of depressing and gloomy ones..
However..looking at those jovial and good spirits pictures..it made leaving even heavier..the many moments we have shared..the memories..the camaraderie..the bond..i will definitely miss all of these.
A colleague once asked , " is it difficult leaving the school..?"
My short reply..."Leaving NPCC is harder.."

Went to PARISS, the family restaurant , with OPS & WL last weekend. OPS always has reservation of makan places that had gone thru halal-isation, complaining that the standard & the variety of the food will deteriorate after they received their certification...aiyah this man difficult to please lah..hehe
Anyway, the meal was on WL who had decided to give his 2 favourite sirs..cos his 2 favourite maams are always busy...which had to be cancelled many times due to our conflicting schedule.
Thank you Sir!!

Kena fined $300 yesterday for failing to book for IPPT within my window period..it was not my 1st but the fine kept getting higher each time...sian.
Anyway..was thinking with that amount i could pamper myself with a new bag or something..i felt rather lousy & angry with myself looking at the receipt of the fine. Usually a receipt always comes with a new purchase but not this..
Anyway when i saw this pair of Nike, i decided that this will be my most expensive Nike shoes ever- $459 inclusive of the $300..so that the pain of the fine could be soothed ..NOW i have 2 receipts & a pair of Nike footwear..hehe
I also went to Ikea after paying my fine to get a frame for the self portrait presented to me by the secondary 4s NCOs. The picture now looks more complete with the new frame.
Thank you guys.
I also understood that the secs 4s, under the OIC-ship of SBS, had worked very hard to make my surprise farewell during the POP a successful one.

Really appreciate all the hard work & the secrecy surrounding it all.
SBS also managed to 'curi' my picture from my personal collection to put it on the cake..which was too beautiful to be eaten.
Terima kasih daun keladi..hehe
..& my cadets are the most thoughtful bunch of students i've ever met, they bought a strawberry cake instead of the more popular chocolate flavour, knowing i dun like chocolate..thank u everybody.
The sec 3s even recited a poem on dark chocolate, comparing it to me...more of the poem in my next entry perhaps.

During the POP, a slideshow the seniors put up with the help of my HC ex neighbour & the TOs brought back fond memories in my 7 years in NPCC
..the unexpected gesture by the lower secondary cadets created a little snuffle..brought tears to my eyes.
Thank you everybody for the kind gesture.
Especially to the TOs..i have put together a montage of the many events, camps and stay-overs that bonded us together all these years..forever etched in my memory.

Left school @ ard 9.30pm 2nite..i received another sms from my nutty tenant. He said his cousin gonna come over to accompany him tonite coz he felt a presence in the house AGAIN while i was in school for the POP-BBQ the nite before. He sounded rather serious in his sms when he narrated what happened the nite before when he was all alone @ home, my residence. He is my 3rd tenant so far- although the 1st was a free-loader & a totally different story altogether- but the only one with stories UTT would want in his show.

Received an sms that brought tears to my eyes;
"Sir, everything ok in school? Hope u had a good farewell with the kids. As for us, there will never be farewell!"

Received a surprise 2day before the outdoor challenge for the HongKong Spore Exchange Programme students. My HC ex-neighbour presented me a framed book scraping of her and myself. In addition, a mini album of myself titled Dream.Believe.Love. It was a creative piece of art work done patiently with dexterous hands from someone who cares..thank you maam
For someone who loves creative beautiful things, i understand the effort put in & i can defintely see them in this stunning masterpiece.

We went to LASERQUEST as part of POP 2008, just for our sec4s & sec 5s NCOs on Monday evening. It was also a final get-together where the secs 3s can spend memorable time with their senior NCOs. This is a pre-celebration for the actual POP on Friday where a formal presentation will be held. Thank You Sec 4s and sec 5s NCOs for the unsurpassed contributions all these years.

Yesterday was my sister's bday..& so went to her place for a little celebration right after LASERQUEST..more about that in my next entry. After makan & Miss Universe Finals..i fell asleep right at the sofa but was woken up by a rather disturbing sms by my tenant..around midnite..
"Did u knock on my door just now...?"
I was too sleepy to respond..that i went back to sleep.
He sms-ed me again this morning with the same question...& when i called him, he narrated the weird experience he had the nite before. Apparently it was the 2nd nite his door was knocked...& when he checked..no one...SPOOKY!!
When he told this to his cousin, his silly cousin suggested maybe there is something about my house that i have not revealed..!!...
Incongruous thoughts!!

 Just when i tot i could start saving more with my impending no-pay leave next month...i ended needing to purchase more things. Just replaced my fan & bought the much yearned blender last week, i discovered that my washing machine had refused to spin last night..DIE leow.. I cannot live without my washing machine, its part of my therapy besides retail which i SO must cut down..
I need to invest in a new machine soon..OR i have to do them manually.

We went for a walk yesterday.. with the secondary 1s & 3s as part of our bonding trip. Our CI, with his greens, made a last minute appearance & joined us for the walk.
We started from Alexandra Arch to Henderson Wave and ended thru Marang Trail. The good weather plus the light shower made the walk more enjoyable...a well deserved break from the routine weekly parade..hehe

Started a new class @ TPYCC last week & due to the unavailability of class rooms, i was given the mini theatrette to conduct my lesson. Wow, i was overwhelmed by the venue and i felt like a lecturer conducting my own lecture ..hehe..in my dreams.
Anyway, after class last week, one of the participant actually came up to me & aplogized for dozing off during my lesson. She blamed the comfortable seats & assured me it had nothing to do with my lesson which she enjoyed tremendously...i believed her..HAHA..

Anak saudaraku telah berjaya mengkhatam Al-Quran dalam usia 11 tahun, berapa minggu yang lalu. Alhamdullilah
Beliau lalu memutuskan untuk terus bertudung, tanpa desakan sesiapa..Alhamdullilah sekali lagi.
Apabila adik ku, ibu mereka mula bertudung pada tahun lalu, beliau sangat terharu dan gembira hingga beliau menulis sebuah karangan tentang cantiknya ibunya bertudung, yang telah disiarkan di BERITA HARIAN.
Adiknya yang berusia 10 tahun begitu mengagumikan keputusan kakaknya, hingga beliau juga mengambil keputusan bertudung sama walaupun beliau hanya akan berkhatam , Insya Allah, pada tahun hadapan.
Mereka berdua kelihatan bergitu cantik dan menawan sekali, adik ku tentu sangat bangga dengan kedua puterinya ini.

I was @ TPY area on Sunday morning when i chanced upon the YESCOM 2008 Grand Finale, where more than 30 schools took part. Our school's entrepreneur club under the guidance of my fren MR M, was one of many schools that took part, marketing the badges that they are synonymous with.
I of coz showed them my support by patronizing a few badges & even had my foto taken with my nieces, & had them photoshop, to be framed up later.
The results for the competition will be due in about 2 months time.

Didnt have time to update my blog during the weekend cos it was fully utilized. We went down to Pasir Ris Park early Saturday morning to recee the venue for the upcoming NCOs camp. The last time i visited the place was in ..maybe in late 1995..more than a decade ago when i was till living in the east.
Well, the place has definitely changed a lot, there were more area for children playground, some even look like our own outdoor obstacle courses.
There was even a mangrove forest where mudskippers and crabs called their home, followed by a Kitchen Garden where u could find many herbs and spices ..which i think F&N teachers would find themselves at home..unfortunately OPS who promised to meet us there.. apparently overslept due to some heavy duty exercises the nite before..his own words i quoted!!
Zal and Su are OIC & AOIC respectively for the NCOs Camp, were overwhelmed by the place & saw potential on the activities that could be carried out there. I m SO looking forward to the camp.

I dun have the habit of checking my post box frequently and often i'll do it only once a month. That is where the box will be almost full with brochures, flyers and other rubbish.. Last nite, as i was going thru my monthly routine, i discovered a while envelope with

boldly stamped on it.
It was dated 110608, & i have to appear in military uniform with decent haircut for failing to book for IPPT on
230608 @ 9.00am sharp!!
That was 2 weeks ago...ohh noo...i panicked..flustered..
So this morning i quickly call up Mindef..& was told to wait for a pink letter -Pink is always not a good colour for me- & appear on a new date OR I'll have to face the consequences...
Alamak...must make it a habit to check my mail now...or..i have to face the muzik...

As I was clearing the drawer in the art room, i chanced upon this photograph taken way back in 2003 during our 1st ever NPCC overseas trip. It was taken when we reached the peak of Mount Ophir..it was definitely an imperative moment & an achievement for me to succcessfully scale, what is arguably the most climbed mountain in the Malaysia, despite it having one of the higher climbing fatalities in the region of South-East Asia.
It was also supposedly to be our Maam Tan's debut outing with us..but due to an unforseen circumstance she wasnt able to join us. Till now, she is still wondering whether she would be able to ascend to its peak...
Anyway, what was most disconcerting about the photo was how much the cadets have grown over the years..just look at our newly minted Officer Lee way back then...hehe.

My morning started quite differently today.
First my sole came off as i was walking out of my void deck that i had to rush back home. Just like my cobbler said to me.." u have so many shoes until u forgotten some of them"...hehe..quite true.
Had to call the cab immediately while i rushed to change into a new pair, so that i'll be punctual for school.
Anyway once in the cab, the driver asked me where i was heading..
"Senja Road." i answered briefly..
"..oohh coffee shop har..?" he inquired further.
"NO!!..school!!" i answered defensively.
Me..work in a coffee shop? Did i look like..?..before i could finish my thought..the driver apologised & blamed it on the aromatic scent of the curry puffs .
He was of course refering to the dozen of curry puffs i had with me for my friends for breakfast. These delicious and mouth-watering puffs always cheer up my friends' mornings, anytime...hehe..i guess im gonna miss these moments too when i dun have my friends to share my puffs in the future..

Under its sub 1.1 is GET your work noticed..i've underlined and followed the important rules...
But of course the very best way to get your work noticed is to be very, very good at your work.

I remembered reading a book given to me by my HC ex neigbour many calendars ago. The Book was THE RULES OF WORK, & in one of the chapters it touched on how to get work noticed.
Rule 1.1- make sure your name is prominently displayed.
AND SO I DID!!
Well next time if u enter the CLC room, look up to the ceiling, my name cannot be missed..hehe
