This afternoon, 2 teams of NCOs were busy planning for 2 upcoming NPCC events. The 1st team, the seniors were busy preparing for our 1st CNY get together BBQ nite, which was initially proposed as a year-end party last year.. BUT due to unforseen circumstances, it has transformed into a Chinese New Year celebration instead..without the traditional bakwa of coz..hehe

The 2nd team, was the sec 3s NCOS headed by JC, planning the annual NPCC Sec One Camp. I got to witness JC intense control of his team and his alacrity doesnt allow indolence in his team, he is focused and at task.

Of coz there were laughter in the process. Thanx to our trigger happy SBS who captured these moments thru these fotos above.

The aromatic fragrance invited me to this opulently decorated little store.
Friends mentioned it.
Scampered past it a few times.
Finally stepped into it.

I was greeted by Rosemary,..her name sounds fragrant already..hehe. She is the store managress, a petite lady ,subtly persuasive and very eloquent in her sales presentation.

The Cookie Museum, offers more than 100 flavours each time, if i heard her correctly. I've sampled more than 15 flavours of tiny cookies, personally picked by her. The flavours were interesting too, from the fruity Sweet Papaya & Lotus seed and Cran-Lychee, to the aromatic Baby Peony and Madeleine Rose, even uniquely Singaporean flavours such as Laksa, Ikan Bilis and even Nasi Lemak. Simply amazing!

I feel like Violet Beauregarde, a character in Willy Wonka, who tried the experimental piece of "three-course-meal" gum. The flavour just burst into my mouth and i especially like the savoury ones compared to the sweet-scented ones. So i settled for the HAE BEE HIAM. Its like eating those mini springrolls with the spicy fillings. So syiok tho it costs 3 times more that the GG cookies.

I 've also picked the Laksa-flavoured for my quirky ex neighbour who had since left school. I am positive that he would appreciate these laksa cookies ..so unconventional, so atypical..so him..hehe.
While the Baby Peony, cranberries-orange chocolate & lotus Seeds cookies, for a HC lady .These eggless, milkless and low sugar cookies will definitely gets her approval.

ENJOY BOTH!
BOTH

Last night, my NCOs and I, headed down to Orchard Road to recee the shopping paradise for our Amazing Race planned for our upcoming Sec One NPCC camp. It was definitely interesting to map the whole route and churning out questions at the same time. With the tight time frame in mind, it was a great challenge, to make the race both enjoyable and fun.
Above are some of the clues and hints for the race..

There were definitely many questions proposed and rejected ...
Samples of questions :
Q1 by JC - What is the total number of books available in BORDERS?
Q2 by Wadi - How many lamp post are there in the whole stretch of Orchard Rd?
Q3 by ZW - Count the floor tiles... NEXT!!

Thanks guys, btw we need to run the whole race ourselves before the actual event.

Date : 26 jan 2008
Time : Early morning
Venue: Esplanade Park
Event : Media launch of Ben Phua's Mighty Fa Cai Rat Art installation in conjuction with the Singapore River Hong Bao 2008.

This event will be official opened on 5 feb but cherry blossoms have started blooming there, giving the area a fresh new look against the many icons of Singapore..and rats, many rats everywhere, in many forms and colours being the year of the rat.

This is our 3rd year collaboration with Artist Ben Phua. This Fa Cai Rat paintings are done exclusively for the Spore Rive Hongbao Event and our school is one the many schools involved. The media from Lianhe Zaobao and Mediacorp were present in this event, organised by STPB. Royston was there to represent our school, as my other 'artists' were involved in another art event , "Litter-free" Parks Paint-a-bin Competition, with my colleagues.

RW was also interviewed by Mediacorp, whom he claimed he saw all the time on Tv interviewing other people, & i guess it feels weird watching himself last nite on Tv while having dinner with his family..haha

Received this for Christmas last month from my HC ex-neighbour, a made in Japan honeyed candy. It tasted so good that i am only allowing myself 2 pieces per week, that 's the reason it's still lasted till 2day. I have asked her where it was from, but she was so secretive , her reply was, " Somewhere high class lah!"

After a week..i m back..with more fotos as promised. The secondary one students bonded and gelled well throughout the camp. Along the way, we discovered many potential leaders , potential actors and potential trouble makers too.

I was also very pleased that many of my NCOs ,past , present and future, were involved in this year's orientation camp.
Congratulations to JC for heading the camp steadily well this year, following the path of ZR last year. As usual SBS was the epitome of fervor and ardor. XY as always, a noiseless worker at task.
Well done all.

I was watching Oprah the other nite when she introduced her latest choice for her Book Club. Titled 'Love in the time of Cholera' by Gabriel Gracia Marquez, it is now a Motion Picture coming to a theatre near you. However Oprah suggested to all fans of love stories to read the book first before catching the movie, it is way better she opined.
A love story that spans for 51 years, 9 months and 4 days, sounds like an eternal love.

I just know many people who are die-hard fans for such long & complicated love stories which hopefully, ended happily ever after eventually.
My HC ex neighbour is one such person..so here's neighbour i bought this book just for you. Maybe you can enjoy after the camp that both of us are attending..
Gotta rush for camp now.

I was window shopping last weekend for yet another gift when I chanced upon this tee.

Perfect! The visual was just perfect! With the skinny jeans & the narrow tie, it was the quintessence of LWL..but of coz he looks nothing like that monster..hehe
True enough, he loved the t-shirt very much.

Happy Belated Birthday Sir.

January is like Christmas all over again coz there were so many presents to give..not that i am complaining but i just ran out of ideas. Today is my niece's birthday, but we had a little celebration last nite after my tuition session with her. I am coaching her and her sister coz my sister is a little fretful about their Maths. Uncle Sham to the rescue..

Managed to snap a group foto, but this is just a third of the whole entourage. I have 19 nieces and nephew in total..hehe..

Watched a movie last nite, in it, the main character said this phrase a few times,

LOVE IS NOT A FEELING, LOVE IS AN ABILITY.

Well, kind of true if u think about it.
Something to ponder..perhaps...

I was in the middle of class when one of my student shouted across the room,
"Cher, my mum wants to know you!"
"Me? Sure!"
I answered instinctively..thinking that perhaps her mum wants to know her daughter's new form teacher.

" Your mother?! Why?"..her classmate interrupted my thoughts ..
" My mother is single ...wat!!" the first student answered animatedly..

Just then, I remembered speaking to her mother a few days earlier, after the class updated their particulars, a routine that comes every new year.
Anyway, her mum stressed that she wanted her daughter's father's particulars to be deleted from her daughter's particulars coz she had the custody...bla bla bla..

...faintz...hehe

While i was enjoying my swiss made chocolate just now , I was told by a fren, that i m gonna received more gifts from her, wow...thank you in advance.
Ecstatic! Definitely.

Anyway, I've actually forgotten to thank Mr Maz for that bottle of holy water, & other functional gifts he gave, from the holy land of Mecca. He just peformed the 5th duty of the Five Pillars of Islam (The term given to the five duties incumbent on every Muslim).

Every able-bodied Muslim is obliged to make the pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in their lifetime.
Insya Allah, with Allah's permission, I will make it my destination too..not so soon..but surely..eventually

Islamic teachers say that the Hajj should be an expression of devotion to Allah, not a means to gain social standing. The believer should be self-aware and examine their intentions in performing the pilgrimage. This should lead to constant striving for self-improvement.

TOTALLY.
