Wednesday, April 29, 2009 A good friend, Litsanity, was raving about this makan place many times already. It was very near his school, and before the lunch crowd starts attacking the makcik, I meant the makcik's cooking, he would have already packed his lunch very early at 10am..hehe..talking abt ks-ism...haha..
Anyway, it was featured in the local paper agreeing with Litsanity..the fluffy rice, the savoury sotong with black ink and the flavourful ayam masak merah. The writer felt everything was above average and most importantly in these times, they are reasonably priced.
However... Litsanity was worried that the place will be flooded after the feature that i decided not to advertise further for the makciks of the stall. Since its the holiday, I might just make an appointment with my good friend & experience the food which the paper insisted 'worth queuing for'..well i am free anyway..HAHA
There are so many schools within walking distance from my apartments but NO..they have to post me to a school that i would probably have to take a cab..haha..
Monday, April 27, 2009 I first heard about this over the radio while I was jogging last week, well i always wanted to catch the latest news..& saw the actual paper while surfing this morning...well its after the exam & i have nothing but time in my hands. Sunday, April 26, 2009 3 guys, Shamkahlo (SK), Wil and Jian decided to catch a movie over the weekend but it was their misfortunate to encounter 3 FAT GERLS at the theatre.
Well the evening started like this...SK and Wil have managed to trick Jian into watching a Malay Ghost movie. When the movie started Jian tot it was part of the trailer..but as it proceeded it..his next query..'got subtitles or not?"..haha.
Anyway, since it was a Malay movie, 95% of the audience were obviously Malays BUT when u were amongst them, be prepared for 'live' narrations throughout the movie, silly predictions at every scenes and fake shouts and screams which eventually became very irritating and exasperating at times.
SK has came to expect all these but forgotten to warn his other 2 frens..and as expected once the movie rolled..so did the audience commentaries...fast & furious.
SK, Wil and Jian were rather unfortunate to have sat in front of these 3 irksome FAT gerls..discussing about the actors, analysing the scenes and even resorted to predicting the ending..that they got into SK's nerves. SK's gave them a long shhhh!!..requesting them to keep their gap shut..but it only shut them up for a good 1 minute when they started again..even commenting on SK's stylish hair..well that was the last straw..
SK turned around & gave those fatties a mouthful and a piece of his mind.
Bloody &^#^$)&^% and uneducated makciks!! So old still behaved like some teenagers!!
Wil even commented that he knew they were obese from they voice cos they sounded like they have over-excess oil clogged up their throat...hehe..Jian only agreed in his laughter.
Friday, April 24, 2009 Finally did my IPPT after the longest time EVER!! I panicked when i couldnt book my IPPT online cos i REFUSE to be fined again this time..& once my window is over..meaning after my birthday next month...i could be fined again..NO! So I told my unit to book for me when it coincidentally called me up for a different matter..or i wouldnt dare to think of the consequences. Anyway, i defaulted my 1st start during the shuttle run, tumbled and fall during the 3rd attempt but passed that station. However, I told myself i need to finish it strong although I didnt manage to pull my weight at the chin up station & at standing broad jump..i managed 1 pt only.
Anyway..the 2.4km was the station i was looking forward to... seriously... REALLY!!..alas i wasnt fast enough. MORE TRAINING SHAMKAHLO!!
Thursday, April 23, 2009 I was supposed to get a gift for my niece, for passing her O levels and make it to the poly..but we were both so busy with our own life...she did not get to choose her gift until yesterday.. YES! As yesterday was my last day of the exams we made an appointment to meet..almost didnt make it cos i was up all nite studying that when i returned home after the papers...i went straight to bed..haha..
Anyway...she has always wanted a laptop bag for her new lappy so I brought her to my favourite shop & told her to choose any laptop bag she likes..
Well she chose a green one, a rather new model..she loves her gift & we called it Chendol Green.
I promised her that the day she received her diploma, she will get a bigger gift..
btw..talking about gift..I actually bought an advance birthday for myself..a little extravagance..well..maybe BUt I deserve it, every inch of the monogram..maybe u can catch it in my next post..hahaha.
It was during the making of our final project when my team member shared this MTV with the class..during our routine reflection and sharing session. I do not know the singers or the title..but I thought i share with all of u...ENjoy..I did.
Sunday, April 19, 2009 As I was revising for my next paper, AA203-Language Acquisition and Development- my last exam paper...HURRAY! I chanced upon the article below in the Sunday Times, coincidentally i was covering the chapter on Social Network, which can be categorised into two characteristics, Density and Plexity. We can consider the density of one's network as dense or diffused OR the Plexity of one's network to be uniplex or multiplex ...ok i diverged..let get back to the article.
Anyway, according to the article, two hundred million people around the world have signed on to this "social networking" website where friends can hook up with one another.
I have been asked times and times again, whether I have a FB account or why not start one immediately as almost everyone has an account now.
Well..I tend to agree with Miss Sumiko, & i quote:
' For the life of me, I cant get what the big deal is about Facebook!"
So if Facebook is God's gift to friendship and social harmony and 200 million people are having a ball cementing friendships in cyberspace, what's wrong with me? Why am I resisting?
5 reasons:
1. I have enough friends already, thank you very much.
2. I value my private space.
3. I dont want to feed my voyeuristics instincts.
4. The posturing one sometimes sees in FB makes me cringe.
5. My time can be put to better use.
All these are her 5 reasons...but I agree totally. Most definitely.
Dont I have better things to do, like going for a run or picking up a new class and make money or clean my house or whatever?
To each his own...it might build friendships, alleviates lonliness and even gives meaning to one's life..maybe ..
Saturday, April 18, 2009 It was a celebration to celebrate Tamil New Year 2009 organised by the KK RC. The Indian dance group, which my niece is a member in school, a Gold Award recipient for 2008 SYF, was invited to perform.
I was there with my sisters and nieces to show our support. The GOH was Mr Zaqy Mohd, MP for Hong Kah GRC, my niece was elated to have the opportunity to share a moment with him.
Friday, April 17, 2009 It was not even my last paper yet..but after my examinations this afternoon I decided to head to town..cos from reliable sources, the bag that i reserved has arrived. It was first first featured in a magazine many months ago..& since then I told myself I have to get it..hahaha.. The very limited Longchamp Ceci Est Un It Bag. Available in 2 colours, brick and ecru ..that's beige for the colour blind..hehe.. Anyway, i chose the zipless ones cos the price difference is $300...YES!..$300 for a pair of zippers...well i can do without them cos eventually, it will be left opened anyway ..btw although these are their 2nd shipment, this time they only came in 2 pieces in every model for both colours...so take a look...grab it if u like..THE IT BAG! 6:52 PM
It was our last & final presentation..it was really an interesting project. Our lecturer, Mr Binh was really helpful in guiding us..if only we had more time. The final product varied amongst my classmates..it was a project that uses sensor to activate noise, movement and lights. There was a musical painting that changes tempo when u wave ur hands in front of it, a dustbin that beeps when u left it opened and a mannequin with a fan as the head, and whose limbs will move if u approach it...
It was also Mr Binh's final class in NIE, cos he's going back to Florida to take up another job opportunity there.
Saturday, April 11, 2009 An ex-student called & said she needed help for her O levels Art paper..well its a holiday anyway.. Saw her work..not good..gave her advices on her prep work, helped her a bit..& made an appointment to meet her later in the month, after my exams..
Well, later in the evening met up with a few others..its a long weekend afterall. We wanted to check the new mall, Illuma & also its cinema is offering a $6 movie ticket regardless of time or day. It has been very a while since i met up with them..the movie we watched has a rather lousy ending but the catching up was good...after my exams we'll catch another movie...ok guys!

Nope she is not going to marry for the 3rd time. & she is definitely not gonna insured her derriere for millions..hehe..Not that i noe anyway!! Well...my ex-colleague gonna be a mother to twins soon. I am really excited for her..all her long wait...finally a pair of twins. Congratulations!!
Monday, April 6, 2009 Alhamdullilah...received my test back. Its for AAE103..its all about transcriptions, assimilations, deletions and intonation. I am realli bad at this.. BUT surprised! Surprised! I passed...better than expected. WOw!! the feeling was great! Well..now waiting for the real exams next week!! I must really really do it well..
Sunday, April 5, 2009 It was my sister's bday yesterday. The sister I go jogging with every Thursday, after she sends her daughters to school, followed by a trip to the wet market after we are joined by another sister. It was sort of a bonding session..followed by light breakfast...every thursday cos i have no class on that day.
Anyway, yesterday was a casual affair, also we wanted to try out a new Halal Japanese restaurant at Yew Tew Point. Well, the children, my nieces and nephews love sushi too.
My bday gift to my sister, a 4 days PSLE seminar for my 12 years old nieces, jointly organised by Adam Khoo & WARNA. Although, she cannot enjoy the bday gift as previous year, I am pretty sure she will greatly benefited from it.
Thursday, April 2, 2009 I received an sms enquiring about the availability of my room for rent. It came from an unknown number..so i asked for more information of the sender tho' i have no more room to rent...& i dun remember advertising on it. Apparently it was a friend from my last tenant, the one who claimed that my home is definitely haunted..watever..anyway, he wanted to rent my room again, & willing to pay my current asking price. I was pissed..NOt only he left with my house key..he also still owed me a week's rent. I lambasted his friend in my sms reply to him..& queried why should i give him a second chance after the 1st incident...gila..
