Made by my HC ex-neighbour, specially delivered to my door step.
She assured me that they were Low fat, low sugar, made from 100% hawaii pure bananas.
When you bite into it, you can feel the pieces bits of juicy bananas.

According to her again, presentation is minimal, just how the health conscious love it.

Thank you maam. I felt so privileged.

I was assaulted by a crazy woman last nite.
She raised her shrieking voice at me.
Pointed her fat fingers towards me.
Accused me of not being apologetic while sitting on her flabby ***!

...still reeling mad just thinking about it...arrrggghhhhhh...
I was shaking with anger while trying to reason with her perverse behaviour...staring at her repulsive face , rearranging her already nauseating face came to mind at that instance...but i was calm until a young lady hushed her so that we could start class immediately.

I was flipping thru a Malay-language entertainment magazine over the weekend, when i came across the article, 'KAHWIN, TAK KAHWIN?'

Simply meant, 'TO GET MARRIED OR NOT?'

It listed 7 pointers to consider before saying YES to a marriage.

I have translated them into English language of coz..

My students always ask me, why my posts are always on NPCC.
My answer, short & sweet," Cos I like...", hehe

Well, every Friday, during the last hour before parade ends, we would have games between levels to bond the cadets together.

This game segment, planned by the welfare Department, headed by SBS, was to break the monotony of drills and campcraft, always associated with NPCC.
It is always well-received by the NCOs and the cadets.

Just look at their expressions..

This morning was the moment of truth..no special t-shirt, no banner, just sheer determination and great teamwork among the team. The team leader JC, was full of anxiety and butterfiles are partying in his stomach..hehe

I am really proud of these silent workers. They trained tirelessly, even without any trainer in sight. Twice a week, even on weekends and more training days were added when the competition date was near.

Thank You guys!

However, i've always reminded them winning is a bonus. The experiential learning in the training process is more important than victory. The teamwork, and the camaraderie formed during the training are definitely priceless.

I am also proud to announce that our school flag was one of the few that managed to fly ever so proudly this morning. Our ex OC also made an unexpected appearance to support our team.

Thank Sir. Appreciated it.

For the girls' team who are participating next week. U GO GIRLS!
Remember, go out there & have fun. Winning is a bonus!

"Cher..how many shoes do u have?"
My students are always pestering me to give them a definite answer to their queries..hehe

"Cher...u changed watch again..i counted, so far u have 12 watches!" ..twj asserted!!
" Can u tell me how many you have..so i can stop counting."..he added

Last week, an entertainment magazine did a 5-page spread on celebrites who lovveee shoes. It even offered a spa pedicures package to readers who can identify the celebrities and their shoes collection. I only guessed 2 out of the 5 correct..

Well, although my shoes collection is not as impressive as Imelda Marcos, i thought i let those nosey ones take a peep into my shoes cabinet...hehe

Next post..my watches maybe..maybe

After the breakfast surprise in the morning, my HC ex-neighbour gave me another surprise in the afternoon. We went for a HC High-Tea with OPS @ Carousel cafe along Scotts Road, and before we started to attack the buffet spread, she announced that the meal will be on her, hehe...
Thank You maam! Again!
The buffet spread was bountiful and the 3 of us spared no time as we started with Japanese, followed by Chinese , then western ...& without realising we were there for almost 2 hours.

Although we are from the same department, there are always topics to update each other. While nibbling on our food, we discussed, we opined, we dished on many items ;

1) our ex-colleague's pet's blog,
2) on faithfulness and loyalty,
3) exclusivity and the sacredness of a relationship
4) diplomacy in the office,
5)
our future out of school,
6) about leaving the school together just like, almost 7 years ago, when we came in to ZSS together as new teachers.
If everything goes smoothly as planned, all 3 of us are pursuing further education in the nearest future.
Hopefully.
Insya Allah

Actually, the food is secondary when you have good company, also the venue was chosen because of its halal-ness.
One fine day, we will hop to another HC halal eatery across the road, as insisted by an ex-colleague, whom we had cancelled on a dinner appointment millions months ago.
He remembers tho'..hehe

It was a long morning, 6 straight periods with no time for breakfast. I was waiting till 11 am before i could actually visit the school cafe ..but after the 4th period i received a pleasant surprise.

A special breakfast delivery from my HC ex-neighbour. Beautifully garnished and prepared with loads of warmth. It just made my morning perfect..btw it is called the devils' eggs i think..

Thank You HC neighbour. It was simply special...I felt special too..hehe

I was having lesson with my form class yesterday, when the boys suddenly hummed the melody & then started singing softly to themselves..

.....I wont forget the way you're kissing
The feeling's so strong were lasting for so long
But i'm not the man your heart is missing
Thats why you go away i know...

hhmm..i was pleasantly surprised that they were singing this song, which came out in 1995, a year after they were born. I guess each lesson i got to know my class better, from their quirky personalities and their taste in music.

I guess some of my colleagues dont even know of this song or this rock group from Denmark, to think that i even went for their concert when they came to Singapore some 10 years ago..hehe. They were really big then. Some of their more popular songs were '25 minutes', ' Sleepin Child' and the rather off-beat 'The Actor'. These songs definitely brought back some memories.

Still no clueless who they are?

Well, they are the MLTR or Micheal Learns To Rock.

They even did a remake of Jacky Cheung's "Goodbye Kiss 吻别" titled "Take Me To Your Heart"...also a Korean version with Hyesung. Take a listen, you might like them.

Had dinner with an ex-student last nite. He was one of my best art student that came out of ZSS. He was the 1st chairman of our Art club, tho he did not get the opportunity to pursue art in upper secondary as Art was not offered then , he continued to practise art making even in his polytechnic years. Look how he has transformed after 4 years since he left ZSS, still maintaining that self-effacing yet charming smile.
mile

If you look around our school, you will definitely see his works. His 1st collaboration with me was the mural outside the library in 2003.The graffiti wall outside the art room, the '3 eyes' that look right on you near the hall and of coz the abseiling wall.He also headed a mural project @ MOE Labrador Campsite in 2004 which was unfortunately painted over during the Campsite Clean-up Project..

BNN

He had just completed his diploma in engineering in NP, but i guess his love for art never dies. He hopes to pursue a degree in Art Design and Media in NTU, and has secured an interview with the Design Faculty this Thursday.

I pray that he gets wants he deserves, and sincerely hope that he doesnt stop being creative. Good Luck Sufi.

Yesterday, as in previous years, we had our annual reunion lunch @ my HC ex-neighbour's home.It was a simple steamboat lunch BUT with many HC ingredients of coz...only the freshest fish, the healthiest veggies and the broth, definitely MSG-free.
Her son is 2 and a half years already, and he is full of vigor and vivacity. Always smiling and always at ease with the camera flashes..hehe..just like his mom.

The weekend seems shorter each week. This weekend was no different. We had the 1st SL Training Camp this weekend to select a new batch of councilors. The potential councilors need to partake in an endurance walk that lasted almost 7 hours. I was proud to announce that my NPCC NCOs that took part did really well. Will post again on the camp after i received more photographs on the event.

However, something else became a topic of conversation. A conversation of concerned. Especially that the camp was a day after Valentine's Day. A day of giving and receiving, a day of declaration of love, a day of acceptance and rejection..stop crying already..

Anyway, the concerned was on the trend of giving expensive...real expensive items ..among our students, valentine's day or not! My colleagues and I were concerned that the gerls are getting more materialistics and the boys are allowing it and condoning it.

Well let me quote something from a colleague's blog,

She wrote on her VD's entry:
Give something that cannot be bought
Give something that will not go away...
Give something that takes more effort than a cash transaction
Give something that will stay forever. :)

SO...remember students, YES especially U..VWXY...Z

Well if a cash transaction is all it takes to win a gerl's heart...starts to worry guys!!

This is my 2nd post on my class. Compared to my previous years, this class is more colourful with more interesting people in a quirky kind of way..hehe
We have the hyperactive, the arty-farty one, the vociferous ones, the meek ones & of coz the makcik-corridors in the making..hehe..
Anyway, most interestingly I have 1.5 set of twins.

1.5..because its an incomplete set for one. Twj has a twin sister in another school while the brooding twins made up of Xs & Xz.

This is my 2nd post on my class.

I received an sms yesterday that sounded so serious, the sender seemed affected..

"Just passed by KSS. Wah scared...practising campcraft!
And this aint my first time seeing them doing so"

I replied defensively..

"ELOO..! We r too..hehe..One weekend! One weekday!
We also very ON hor! Hehehe

The cadets have been practising very hard, altho its more for the experience rather than the winning.
Of coz, a victory would definitely be a bonus.

YOU GO ZH!!

I had a dream last nite and i m lookin for THE wise man or woman to interpret it..hehe. In my dream, my faithful washine machine broke down.

Well, all my friends noe that half of my past time are spent doing laundry. I can spend the weekend doing my laundry, 1st round- all my whites, followed by my coloured shirts, then my socks, my personals, my towels, all washed separately of coz..and finally my bedsheets and pillow cases.

Well, my favourites, the embroidered flowery shirts, of coz are done by the expert- The laundremart..hehe

So a BROKEN WASHINE MACHINE? What does it mean?

1) Being robbed of simple pleasure?

OR

2) There will be SOMEONE replacing my machines with a more personal touch?..hehe

ANY INTERPRETATIONS ARE WELCOME.

Was resting @home last evening, still feeling enervated and sluggish. I had my front door and windows opened to let fresh air in. My neighbours' mum walked past, on her way for CNY visiting, we exchanged Gongxi Facai greetings and..she stopped and handed me a hongbao..hehe..

She said its for good luck. Thank u maam.

Everytime CNY is here, it reminds me of the visitation that never happen. Well it was supposed to be a housewarming party & then a CNY get together..many years have passed & counting, maybe on her baby's 1 month's bday, which is soon, or perhaps when her son received his PSLE results which is in 12 years time, its alrite i can wait...hehe ..yes u noe who ur...hehe

Last 2 days had been hell for me. Got the flu virus since wednesday, seriously do not know where i picked it from. My night has been longer as i need to get up every other hour, perspiring and out of breathe..
This morning, before i went for my Friday prayers , i visited a total of 4 clinics..& all of them were closed. According to their namecards and information at their entrance, they should be opened on PH for 3 hours..but i was disappointed and feeling feeble as time passes.
I have wasted 2 days in bed or my sofas feeling lethargic and lazy. The markings that i've planned to complete are left unattended , untouched and unmarked.

This year , in conjunction with CNY celebration, the F&N department partook in a charity drive to raise some $$ for the school pocket money fund, headed by Mr OPS.

With the help of his students, Mr OPS bakes this mouth watering cornflakes-honey cookies. At $5 per canister and the opportunity to help the needy students, its all worth it.

I bought 3 canister in the name of charity and i paid cash.

AND FOR THE RECORD,
I DID NOT OWE MR OPS ANY $$$!

Helllo ..2E1

After much pestering from my little imps , i have decided to pen some thoughts on them. It was like a breath of fresh air when i was given a form class of a different 'calibre'. I see them for 10 periods each week and with every lessons, i get to know them even better.. while the rest seems to be still in their cocoon..

Lets get to know them, some of them at least..
Lets get to know them, some of them at least..
1) twj- a live wire of the class, boisterous and witty too..

2) raft - a little cocky when i first met him, & i told him just that but i guess he just thinks a lot, observes and speaks faster than he thinks..hehe

3) lyn - our resident artist..perhaps she can be our next Frida Kahlo. One of my favourite artist.

4) Our Lady boss- its self explanatory.

5) Twins Tornedo - dont mess with these lithe wushu experts coz they are expeditious and agile.

6) Gib with the gift of the gab- loquacious & garrulous.

Last nite, while i was watching a TV program featuring lips-smacking desserts , i suddenly remembered the ingredients that i've bought, over the weekend.

It was last Saturday, while reading the newspaper, that i came across a simple recipe of corn beef & mozarella cheese springroll. I was so inspired that i immediately went to the supermarket to get the freshest ingredients..but alas..it was a week later i put my thots into action.
So last nite, i took out the popiah skin, sliced fresh green chillies and saute the corn beef in the pan. Then i proceed on to step 1, step 2, 3 ,4 and finally step 5.

The result...bon appetite everbody.

We stayed over in school after the BBQ cos we have to go Pulau Ubin as early as 6.30am the next day for HRC. However the rain and the long wait dampen the cadets' fervor and enthusiasm.

After waiting for almost 2 hours they finally tried the flying fox but while waiting for the next challenge, it started to drizzle..pressing them to stop for lunch..& the mood just went down hill after that. The next challenge did not follow cos the rain refused to stop.
We are left with no choice but to leave the island earlier than planned, feeling crestfallen & disconsolate.

Last weekend was a busy one for us..so many events happening concomitantly. The sec 3s were out for their marksmanship shoot, some of the sec 2s were out for the NPCC Day parade while the rest were taking their proficiency badge and the sec4s NCOs were busy preparing for the BBQ for the evening .

The sec 1s, in the meantime, were happily enjoying themselves in the Amazing Race, as part of their induction programme into the family of ZH NPCC. They have to find out the names of the canteen vendors who were preparing our BBQ delicacies, they have to pick coins from a container filled with iced-cold liquid and get to know more about NPCC thru this race...

However, the nite was the moment many of the cadets have been waiting for. The rare opportunity to gather NCOs from many batches ago was an event not to be missed. Our 1st batch of NCOs who are now our CIs mingled well with the present NCOs and NCOs of the future.

The 1st ever NPCC Get-Together Chinese New Year BBQ 2008, definitely met its objective to create bond among the cadets of all levels, also to reunite all cadets from the past batches.
Just like a typical CNY Reunion dinner, all the TOs and CIs did the " Lo Hei"- tossing yusheng - literally translated, means "raw fish", though it can also be taken to symbolise abundance, prosperity and vigor & saying auspicious wishes out loud to mark the start of a prosperous new year.

..& here the NCOs of the future to take over the tradition.
