Woke up to a shocking news this morning. MICHEAL JACKSON IS DEAD.
Still remember vividly attending his concert in Singapore at the National Stadium in 1993.
It was the best concert EVER..visually stunning! Simply mesmerising! He brought his MTV onto the stage. UNFORGETABLE!
May you rest in peace.

She: Uncle cannot get married yet! My sister: Why? She: ..because he still in school. A student cannot get married.. Me : Agree!..becos a student very poor..haha..

Harpers Island is one of the better series that had come to our local television in a long long time.
Prison Break is getting ridiculous.. U simply got lost in LOST.. Even CSI is getting tiring..in my opinion lah..
Anyway..back to Harper's Island..this horror thriller/mystery where one or more character will die in each episode will run for 13 episodes. All those marked RIP in the still shots above have died in previous episodes. In last nite's episode, Maggie was hanged to death, so was the Sheriff and Jimmy almost died..
The suspence of guessing who is the killer and the reasons for doing them makes watching.. even more exciting. I guess Uncle Marthy's death in the 1st episode and Mr Wellington during the wedding rehearsal were the most gruesome ones. Both bodies were halved, one vertically while the other horizontally...BLOODY!
Well catch 3 more episodes before the rest of the characters either get chopped, exploded and blown away, crucified by arrow or daggers, hanged by the roof or the ceiling or by a moving vehicle, crashed and sliced, drowned and left to rot , burnt alive or simply shot many times...BLOODY!!Labels: Media

I really think this song by OPPIE was written for me. Take a listen..or simply enjoy the lyrics.
(SINGLE HAPPY by OPPIE ANDARESTA)
Mereka bilang aku pemilih dan kesepian Terlalu keras menjalani hidup Beribu nasehat dan petuah yang diberikan Berharap hidupku bahagia
Aku baik-baik saja Menikmati hidup yang aku punya Hidupku sangat sempurna I’m single and very happy
Mengejar mimpi-mimpi indah Bebas lakukan yang aku suka Berteman dengan siapa saja I’m single and very happy
Mereka bilang sudah saatnya karena usia Untuk mencari sang kekasih hati Tapi ku yakin akan datang pasangan jiwaku Pada waktu dan cara yang indah
I’m single and very happy Waktu terus berjalan Tak bisa ku hentikan Ku inginkan yang terbaik untukku
(..and the translations)
They said im fastidious and lonely And being too hard on myself Thousand s of advices and admonitions have been given In the hope that I’d have a happy life
Im alrite, enjoying the life that I have My life is no less than perfect, Im single and very happy
Bring big dreams into reality And do whatever I like Make friendship with anybody I’m single & very happy
They said at my age its about the time To find the love of my life But im convinced that I’ll find my soulmate At the right moment and in a wonderful manner
Im single and very happy Time rolls on, there’s no way I can stop it I just want all the best for my life Im alrite, enjoying the life that I have

I had an apointment with my NIE practicum supervisor yesterday afternoon..well thats another posting.
Anyway, since it was the school holiday i brought my 2 nieces along to NIE, to show them where their uncle is pursuing his higher education. Showed them the lecture theatres, the many art studios, the sport facilities and of coz the canteen which was undergoing a refitting. I want them to be inspired, to aim for the best in life and realised that education is the most important thing in life & it doesnt stop even when u reached a certain age & their uncle IS a VERY good example.
I was chatting with my ex-head before i went to NIE. She mentioned that my nieces were lucky & wished that she had an uncle like me. I replied that I would also like to have an uncle LIKE ME....hehehe..seriously. YEs. Seriously!

They have served me well. Though i had them since 2007 but it was only recently that I have fully utilised and roughen them out. Now that they are worn out and expired , i have to put them to rest. May their sole rest in peace.

Well I have found myself a new replacement. They are more stylish that the older one. Firmer and more agile. I am sure they will serve me as well or even better than the old wrinkled ones. I am so looking forward to be in them. ..for a more satisfying performance. Labels: Fitness, Me

I received another request to view my room last nite. My second so far. It was a Korean teacher looking for a smaller apartment since his wife and 2 sons are going back to Korea soon. He liked the room but it was his wife who tried to quibble for a lower rental which i refused. They promised to call after they discussed about it at home but i knew that the hubby really like the room.
I had another visit last week, from a Korean mother who was viewing it on behalf of her son, or so i thot, but apparently she was the decision maker cos she was going to stay with her 14 year old son. However, I was relieved that she felt the room wasnt suitable for them..cos i dun wanna a mother-child team in my apartment.
Perhaps i should be patient..or toss a coin between my 2 previous tenants..haha..Labels: Home

I wanna share something funny...very funny actually.. I was on msn last nite when someone familiar came online.
He: Hei Sham Me: Hei 2u 2 He: I miss u Me: HAR??
I was definitely shocked. It was my previous tenant. Apparently, he is feeling miserable in his new apartment. I thot he will be more comfortable living with a family of the same nationality but i was as wrong as him..haha..
He is dismal coz he was indirectly told that cooking was discouraged in the house, tho it was allowed in their agreement. He is depressed & warm at nite coz he will be charged extra if he uses the aircon in the room. He is despondent cos no one gives a hoot of his existence there.
HE WAS MISERABLE & asked me if i would mind if he moves back to my apartment.
ME: (Speechless)
..to be continued..
..btw my previous tenant before my last tenant has also been calling me since May and asked whether the room that he used to rent was still available...I must have been a REALLY GOOD landlord...hahahaha

It was decided that it was gonna be a potluck affair..a potluck BBQ.There were just many reasons to get together, it was the school holidays which was coming to an end and it coincided with my niece's 10 bday..& we love each others company. It was the same venue where my bday was held a month's ago. There were plenty of food. There were games..we played badminton, rollerbladed and the playground was just next to the pit..my nieces even played police& thief...haha. We had loads of fun...more in the future. Labels: Famili

My first trip to JB was on Sunday with my sisters and nieces and nephew to tailor-make our Malay baju for the coming Hari Raya. I have actually accumulated 3 different fabrics over the years but when Hari Raya arrives i will simply purchase a ready-made baju. Well not this year..haha..with a niece's wedding coming in July, my sisters have a few bajus to make, plus the coming Aidilfitri..the seamtress actually had an approximately 12 bajus from us alone..thats good business. Anyway, i went to a different tailor that specialised in men's baju. I tailored 2 outfits for me, 2 for nephews and 1 for my bro-in-law. It will take till end of july before they are ready for collection..i supposed a week later they will not accept any more orders.
The 2nd trip on Tuesday was with OPS, more for makan and shopping...he as usual almost bought everything that he tried...haha..& trust me with the exciting exchange rate..he did help the Malaysian retail department...REALLY!!

Met up with Fauziah & Samad a few days ago, i think i have not met them since i moved to Jelapang...definitely more than 10 years ago..their eldest child is already 10 years ..& now they are expecting their 5th child. Congratulations...well he could definitely afford more broods..holding a rather high postion in a global group of energy and petrochemicals company.

Finally met up with them, only after he was posted to Miri..although this wasnt his first posting overseas, this was the only posting that he took his families along with him..for 2years it seemed.

The children got along well with me too.Their eldest is a girl, followed by a pair of twins and the youngest is a boy..& i reckoned they are missing home already. Till we meet again..soon.Labels: Friends, Me

Attended an Adam Khoo Workshop over the weekend..not that i needed it. It was actually the post-workshop that i have sent my niece to, The Adam Khoo PSLE Workshop. The session that i attended was a session for parents to understand what was covered & the support that the child needs leading to PSLE. It was conducted by Adam Khoo's Champion speaker Mr Ramesh, i am convinced the children benefited from the 3-days workshop, having witnessed many similar workshops he had conducted in my previous school. He is articulate and confident in his presentation, and from feedbacks from my niece and a friend's son, the workshop was definitely valuable and purposeful.
Good Luck Syarah for the upcoming PSLE. Make your parents and uncle proud.Labels: Famili

I have NOT run since i came back from my makan KL trip last week. Guilty. Guilty. Guilty! Was all set to run Friday morning when something urgent cropped up that i need to rush to NIE for some admin stuffs..by cab of coz..haha. Anyway, as encouraged by my HC ex neighbour I decided to run all the way back home after that..a little apprehensive at first but since Ive already dressed for the run..well, i might as well run..haha I took the bus 172 route instead of the KJE since i cant be running on the xpressway.
Run Kahlo Run..out of NTU compound, i passed the SCDF Camp, the Muslims and the Jews cemetery. Its getting hotter, its approaching noon...i passed the Tengah Air Base Camp..then i saw Home Team Academy, cleared it & i'll reach home in no time...BUT I WAS WRONG...approaching the nursery along Sungei Road..i PANICKED!! There was no walking path...no path at all..the road was really narrow & heavy vehicles and 172s were whizzing past me fast & furious..I lost my orientation and focus..need to move to a safety area fast!! Lost my pace. I stopped & lost my momentum..that i had to walk my way home..
Well..from NIE to Sungei Tengah Nursery..not a bad first attempt. Next time i'll definitely reach CCK Ave3..hehe..my void deck would be my finishing line.
Yeah NEXT TIME..soon.Labels: Fitness, Me

Was at KL over the weekend cos my niece needed to hand over the rented apartment she had been living for 3 years while pursuing a degree there. I came along for some R&R, cos the exchange rate was really good!

Of course we did some serious shopping, visited The Pavilion and The Curve, where the above Nike store was taken, & we also explored some interesting nooks and corners that even my niece did not noe existed..
We had lunch at this quaint little cafe along Jalan Masjid & according to the waitress it was opened in 1941- if i didnt hear her wrong- & the cafe spells old school charm. With its antique cloak stand, ceiling fan, electrical switches of yesteryears and yellowed wall..i felt that i have been transported back into time. I supposed the menu has not changed much..i had grilled turkey ham & pineapple & goreng pisang with ice-cream.

Next we visited their Pasar Malam, I was fortunate cos they only operate on Saturdays and a weekday... I think its on Wednesday. It was definitely different from the ones we have back here & they offer much varieties too.

There were many first for me from the night market; 1. Pulau Utara Char Kway Teow which was prepared on the spot 2. Nasi Kerabu, a purplish rice with their special sauce & condiments 3. Rangka Ayam- loosely translated as chicken carcass- cos it was basically deep fried whole chicken with not much meat left! I LOVED IT! 4. Penang Pancake with black beans and coconut..anything coconuty i love it! 5. Honeyed Chicken Wings costing RM$1 each!..thats like SG 50cts..

However..we could not finish those food at one sitting that i had to have them for breakfast too the next day! SUCH GLUTTONY..hehe I was sure that my HC photographer neighbour would have a field day capturing all those colourful subjects if she was there. Trust me she would want to capture the hustle & the bustle there...especially since she has this connection with the ayam percik men regardless where she goes...hahaha

We were all set to catch a midnite movie later in the evening but the damned attitude of the mamat at the box-office spoilt our mood. Typical bochap attitude which u might encounter almost everywhere there..REALLY!! So i decided to get a foot reflexology..cos my niece was too ticklish to have anyone near those toes of hers..APA JER!!

My niece's craving for ice-cream brought us to these stretch of eateries and pubs that looked very much like the ones i visited with AK and OPS..once upon a time ago in BKK..where OPS got so tipsy..well i need a whole post for those episodes.
We chanced upon this fish place which we thot served one of the best fish & chips..served with mocktails with fanciful names.

We also had comfort food that brought us back nostalgia..the once popular A&W Rootbeer float & pancake with strawberry toppings... Also Wendys..still remembered my secondary school days when Wendys was still available in Parkway Parade...perhaps a decade ago!..heehee
I felt so guilty having consumed so much...but i was on a holiday afterall..albeit a short one.

..continued from my last post.. June 1st 2009.
Remembered the man i saw sleeping on my bed.. 1st- I was too shocked to retaliate! 2nd- I was too tired to respond after a night ride home from KL. 3rd - I was simply too pissed to even bother doing anything to him.
Thinking back... i could just shouted at him BUT he automatically woke up when i walked into my room.. i could have banged my door really loudly to show my displeasure and anger but i wanted to be a bigger person... i could barged into my tenant room & ferociously woke him up & tell him 2put some sense into his best friend..but i couldnt be bothered cos he was leaving anyway...Good Riddance!!
I tot it was a wandering 'roh' (spirit in malay) cos i saw my tenant sleeping in his room alas it was a roh of a different kind...a relative of ROH MOO-HYUN..the former-President of S.Korean.
Korean Bodoh..NUMBER 2..anyhow sleep on my bed! Just like HIM KOREAN BODOH NUMBER 1..but i reckoned the biggest BODOH was their former president who ended his life by jumping off the cliff. I REST MY CASE!
