Thursday, December 31, 2009 Conducted a mask workshop with my nieces @ my living room cum studio..hahaha.
There were 5 of them & they took turns to mask each other. My nieces were from 7 years old to 16 years old..& they were very attentive when I gave them the first demonstration & after that it was all them to create & engage..hahah. They certainly had fun.
The instructions were simple;
1. To wash Face
2. To apply vaseline evenly on face
3. To start 'bandaging' to start masking
4. To double layer
5. To remove Mask
6. To admire Mask.
7. To apply desired colours
Well..after the workshop, it was time to enjoy Uncle's cooking..yummy!!
Saturday, December 26, 2009 I woke up this morning & was feeling frustrated when all my cable channels are showing nothing but request for subscribers to call 1633, their customers hotline. I remembered paying the bills..what could be wrong but suspiciously my internet is working perfectly fine! I call their hotline immediately but it was busy, busy & still busy 45 mins later. Well..i decided to switch off the main connection & ...WALA!!!..all the channels that i've signed for appeared like magic BUT something more magical happened! I can access to ALL other channels that Starhub offers.. ALL OF THEM! Its like the episode when Joey & Chandler of Friends, discovered free porn channel & dare not to switch them off, afraid they might lose it..thats how i am feeling now..haha
Thursday, December 24, 2009 First an sms..then a phone call..by classmates informing of the results. It was out..but i had problem getting into them & its too late to call the servicedesk..so i have to wait for the next day. Another 2 more sms-es were received later in the evening ..thanx guys..BUT i still cant get into the portal..& why am i not kanchiong like my classmates..i noe not..hhahaa.. Well...the next day after resetting my password I still cant get into the portal..getting more frustrating...hahahaha...
Well...anyway...got it finally...HURRAY! Another semester to go & i cam graduate soon...Insya Allah
Monday, December 21, 2009 I have always been a reality shows fan..u named it, i have followed them all...haha The latest SURVIVOR SAMOA finale was showed 'live' this afternoon.
The $1million winner is Natalie & according to Jeff Probst, she will join Jenna Morasca, Danni Boatwright and Parvati Shallow as the 4th “hot woman” to win Survivor and will most definitely be asked back for a future all-star season.
Well, the villian of the season was definitely Russell Hanzt, like him or not, he will go down as the greatest player of all time. He was sorely disappointed when he lost out the huge prize to Natalie, but as a consolation he won $100 000, when he was chosen as the favourite player of the season by Survivor's fans.
But somehow, something else caught my attention.... Brett's tshirt...haha. He is a tshirt designer & the last survivior to be eliminated into the jury. I guess he wore his own creations in the show too..haha..
Sunday, December 20, 2009 It has been almost a decade since i started conducting Malay conversational classes in Community Clubs in Singapore. I first started at a CC that has been closed permanently...haha. I have travelled all around the island from Siglap CC to Bedok CC to Fuchun CC for these classes. Presently i have only 5 venues cos i have only 5 week nites available.
Anyway, in the course of these classes i have met many interesting people..mostly Chinese locals with a handful of expats and foreigners on short term employment, who are interested to learn my Mother Tongue. There were once a Nigerian lady, an Italian couple and sometimes our neighbours from our SEA countries like Cambodians, Thais and Pinoys.
I have make many new friends through these classes, even introduced one to a colleague..trying to match-make them but God have bigger plans for them & both have since found their life partners...hehe.. I have also brought a few classes to the Ramadhan Bazaars during the fasting month.
Anyway, brought a German student to sample one of Singapore most famous dish, the 'tulang' at Beach Road, another student went home to Spain so could not join us. Well, the thought of some strange red-looking bone with the benefit of eating the marrow didn't quite appeal to him right away. However, he was polite with what he thought of the dish...but somehow it gave him ideas of what to get for his family and friends in German. Instant local dishes like Laksa paste, chicken rice paste and the likes. He also found something that German does not have..axe oil...hhahaha.
Saturday, December 19, 2009 It has been running for almost a month. After 3 months of consultations and researches ..many sleepless nite of making and producing the sculptures..the show came to an end yesterday. I brought my nieces to help me cos they didnt have a chance to visit it during the run..it was definitely easier to tear down an installation then setting them up.
I guess i have to find a new home for my installation. Any suggestions?
It was results after results...while 2 of my nephews & a niece are eagerly waiting for their O levels results in January. Another niece received her results yesterday. It was the N level..she made it & will be in secondary 5 next year. My sister was having a sleepless nite the day before, but Alhamdullilah her daughter did it. Congratulations Diyana!
And another result will be out next week when my 12 years old niece will receive her secondary school posting. She has passed her PSLE examinations & has made it to the Express Stream.

This was one of the songs that Zana & I sang on our way home...well...we sounded good actually...HAHAHAHA.. Anyway, there was another song that we could not remember the singer or the title of the song but we could certainly sang the song alrite. Well, the song was Lamunan Terhenti by Aris Ariwatan, the same guy who sang 'Permaidani', that same song that was re-recorded by Tok Pah & spoilt the song totally!
Sunday, December 13, 2009 Met up with Zana last nite, to make up for her absence 2 days ago..haha It was always good to meet up with someone you have so much in common with, such as music & fashion..of course there were much laughter shared too.
..& speaking of music, she surprised me even more when music of the 90's, songs from Mega, Ukays and Aris Ariwatan were blasted in her car as she sent me home. It was a karaoke session all the way to CCK..as we sang our way back to the past...HAHAHA..it was so much fun. Well, actually she brought some fotos from the past too..to be shared..so offbeat!! LOL!
Met up with more classmates from my secondary school last nite. 6 were expected to turn up but Zana & Mus, were unable to meet us due to unforseen circumstances but we were pretty sure such meet-up will occur more often now. It was really wonderful to meet up with Mas & Lubna again..Razanah too. We caught up with each other, but there were certainly loads of laughter throughout the night especially as we talked about Mas' crushes and Lubna's inability to remember many of our classmates names..hahaahhaa We definitely received many stares from other diners..but since we were having such a blast..we simply ignored them..hehe Well...another meetup is definitely in order..stay tuned..!
Was watching Bed of Roses last nite on cable & realised that i enjoyed this simple romantic movie.It is about a florist boy who likes to take walks in the middle of the night and look up at people's windows. One night he sees a girl crying and decides to send her flowers. And so a budding romance develops. His infatuation with her borders on obsession and this ends up scaring her away, at least initially...but of course it has a fairy tale ending.
However i was fascinated by the movie's poster..or rather the similarities between these 2 movie posters, the main characters frolicking on rose petals..although American was made 3 years later after Bed of Roses.
Similarly I was equally intrigued by an advertisement, that was inspired by Mena Suvari. It was for a fat-free yogurt. Well, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder..you decide...hahaha
Sunday, December 6, 2009 Managed to catch the giant LV trunk outside NAC, to commemorate the opening of a new level of this high-end boutique tomorrow. I was told it was usually very crowded with trigger-happy tourists & locals alike, so it was really impossible to have the trunk to yourself but we crazy people managed to get some perfect shots becaused it was drizzling slightly...hehe..
Saturday, December 5, 2009 Received an early Xmas gift last nite. Thank you maam. It was a masterpiece by my HC ex-neighbour. It was her second attempt to bookscrape on a canvas & it was really beautiful. It was an art piece to encourage me to create more art...thank u again.
Read its review. It was good. Watched the movie. It was better...haha.. It was a comedy like no other, its laugh a minute movie. It was a hilariously hilarious movie..The zombie violence is goofy comic mayhem rather than nasty. That's not to say that anything is held back in the gore stakes. Some really monstrous and brutal kills are shown in graphic detail... Oh don't forget the subplot of tracking down a Twinkie? Very random but genius at the same time.
Was told by a friend last nite that she visited my exhibition again the day before, altho' she did attend the opening. Apparently, she came back to take more photographs of the exhibition to submit it for a photo-taking competition. I was elated that my work has been chosen as her subject & I cant wait to see the final product or the chosen piece that she has picked to be submitted the competition. Wishing her all the best.
Thursday, December 3, 2009 Was told by a kind Radhiah of Class 4B that i have missed many names in my previous blog. Some names I honestly cannot remember while some was intentionally left behind..haha.. She claimed that she knew my classmates better that i do..well i guess i wasnt as sociable as her then..& even now..hahahha. So here i made amends & included the names that I have missed out..& still missing out.
Good memories are made of these. When Zubaidah uploaded these fotos on the FB..it certainly brought back good memories. Looking at it, I suddenly realised that Muslimah was my classmates, Jinming was the first to spot white hairs..& Zanariah was definitely the trendiest at that time...haha..just visualise how she used to sashay those corridors, Tyra Banks would have definitely approved !
And who could ever forget those pipes of hers..she can shout like no one can. Righfully she was our PC..& I have finally traced her down through FB & why am i not surprised that she is with CID now..it is where she belongs!
Well i guess I was rather active on stage during my sec sch days, i danced, i sang & emceed...met up with Siraj last week..& looking back it was really a blast reminiscing the past.
I supposed NPCC is always in me..from the whistle & landyard's days till today. I have been a TO since i joined teaching many years back. Well, hopefully I will be going back to the unit after 2 years break..
