We are known as the LOA trainees..hehe...a week after we arrived, all 6 of us were put on quarantined for a week. Unfortunately one of us was infected with H1N1 after visiting her bf ,who got it from the SMU cluster. Coincidentally the bf happened to be my ex-student whom i met when i was doing my first practicum in 2000..its a small world afterall.
Well..another trainee pictured above, has a bf who is a fireman who happens to bake as a hobby. Lucky us, we got to taste those homemade cookies and those decadently sinfully-melt-in- your-mouth cheesecake, made with loads of love. The gf wanted us to share the calories-laden dessert with her, in her attempt to maintain her comely figure. Well, glad we did, cos the cake was simply too good to say no to..thank u Pei fen.
Btw..it was the last day for three of them yesterday.
Well like i always say..when i made new friends..dun say good bye..just say see u again..cos we gonna see each other again in campus soon...

It was Racial Harmony celebration & we were encouraged to don national costumes of other ethnic group besides others...it was also an opportunity for the students not to be in their boring uniform..haha..
Anyway, there were definitely many little nyonyas amongst the staffs..& amongst the students it was like Aidilfitri came earlier this year.

A trainee was penalised for her lack of teacher 'persona' and was even threaten of a 6 months extension ...
I was like..huh!..is there such a reason..
A persona, in the word everyday usage, is a social role or a character played by an actor. This is an Italian word that derives from the Latin for "mask" or "character",
In psychology -The persona is also the mask or appearance one presents to the world..

I have been waking up at 2am lately to complete my lesson plans and powerpoint slides for next day's lessons. Ocassionally, takes a quick nap in between and stretched on to the time for me to attend school.

My previous Korean tenant has helped me to advertise my room for rent. I ve also put an advertisement on a local website ..BUT so far those responding were from the Korean website. Many Korean students studying here came to view my room. This afternoon, the latest potential..he brought his Korean classmates to view the room with him too. The only complaint from most, was that the room wasnt air-conditioned..besides that, everything was perfect.
Many said they gonna call the next day..but so far none did.
Hopefully, one will come soon..
I still remembered a potential tenant 2 weeks ago..a Korean worker whose company has in fact provided him with accomodation but he needed a room to rent in the day in between his site inspection...suspiciously he even bought a lady to view the room. He repeatedly asked me whats my hours like during the day..cos he might return during the day for a quick nap or 'rest'...well again i guess without the aircon..he could not rest well or..watever he has plan to do....if u noe my drift...haha

Anyway, attended my brother-in-law's brother's wedding 2 weekend ago..which again gave us another chance for more foto-taking..haha..& since i have not post about it. Well..y not..

It was officially the 3rd day of my LOA.
Decided to stay longer in bed and NOT set the alarm..and in the process accidentally put my mobile into silent mode.
Anyway..woke up at 9.56am & confronted by 14 missed calls..from 6 different numbers and 4 urgent-sounding sms.
I NEVER FELT SO WANTED AND MISSED...hahahhaha.
Well the calls were from the school, the P, CSO, CT, ST, OM..all the acronyms u can find in the office.. i immediately called the ST who was overally in charge of us. She told me to read my email..an urgent one..
SO urgent that she cannot say it over the phone.
SO urgent that it wasnt convenient to convey the urgency immediately to me.
SO URGENT that it was 'faster' for me to switch on my lappy, log on to my mail & read her email.
SO URGENT that she needed to speak to me at 8.08am, 8.14am, 8.25am, 8.26am and 9.02am BUT NOT AT 9.56am..
Well..CUT the story short..i ended up apologising to the P and the ST. Apparently I was supposed to report my health before 8am EVERY morning during my LOA period which NO ONE told me about...SIAN..

SIAN.....
Today is the first day of my LOA..since yesterday was a school holiday.
I have been cooping at home since yesterday..afraid to even leave home to get my daily supply of New Paper..
Anyway..received an sms from my sister. She told me to check outside my door as she had left something for me before she rushed off to fetch my nieces..she was also afraid of me..ridiculous rite?..haha..
 Well...checking outside the door, i realized she had left home-cooked food for me, enough to last for 3 meals for 2 days..yes that much..& she had also included some tropical fruits for her quarantined brother.
Just look at the labelled food above...hehe..i must be quarantined more often to enjoy such 'pampering'...HAHAHA...

SHUT UP & MASK UP
All 6 of us were housed in a room at the end of the well-lit, spanking new and huge staff room. It was built for 5, that I have to share a table with another trainee and 4 more are scheduled to join us next week...there will definitely be an overcrowding soon.
Anyway..a colleague was on 2days MC last Wednesday and Thursday. She came back on Friday, still not completely recovered. While we were in the canteen around noon, her bf called and told her that he was postively H1N1-affected. She panicked, informed the management and was sent back for check-up immediately.
The 5 of us were being summoned to our little room, instructed to mask up and immediately sent home too to practise social distancing..i have to skip Friday mosque and cancelled my evening class too.
Its the weekend and all of us were checking each others' health and development for any symptoms or indication..and still awaiting for any news whether our colleague has been infected by her bf.

It has been almost a week..since MJ's passing.
It has also been almost a week since my last update...well i am in a different location presently.
Still adjusting to the new environment.
Still adjusting to the new timing.
Still adjusting to the new people around.
Still adjusting to the new dress code.
Having to introduce myself at least 3X a day.
Well...being plastic is not my forte..so i have been communicating with the other 5 who came in with me to this new surrounding...since the permanent residents are still adjusting to the 6 'intruders' into their comfort zone.
Well..given a choice i would NOT want to be the permanent residents there...THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
