"Bang! Bang! boleh kasi saya $2", seorang budak lelaki bersuara disebelah saya
"Buat apa nak $2?" saya bertanya,
"Nak beli makan!" jawabnya selamba ..
"Bapak mana?" saya terus menyoal..
"Kat rumah..kasi saya $2 lah" dia terusan mencuba..
Basically that was the brief conversation i had with a young boy who asked for $2 when i was at TB plz on my way for class last nite.
When i asked on why he needed the cash, he replied he wanted to buy some food.
He looked decent, rather softspoken in nature and didnt sound like he was begging. He did it so nonchalantly that i almost gave him more than what he asked..but i didnt & walked away.
I looked back after a few steps and saw his mum coming out from a shop.
It made me wonder...
1) Was she in this with him..
2) He sounded so natural like he has done it many times
3) Does his mum knows about his begging..
I spoke to a social worker, who happened to be one of my students last nite. She said, she might just approach the mother to know the truth of the matter.
