I was invited to witness the OCS Commisioning Parade of the 69/07 intake last nite with OPS. It was the commissioning our ex student-cum-cadet-cum-CI as an Officer in the SAF, the newly minted 2nd LTA Lee WL. The ceremony was very formal and very meaningful to both the new officers and their family. The blessing by different religious leaders on all the new officers was the most momentous and poignant part of the ceremony. But of course the tossing of the peak caps by all graduands after affixing the Officer rank epuletttes by family members, was a signaficant gesture that most new officers look forward to, symbolising a new chapter in their army life.
Congratulations Officer Lee. His family, elder brother, girlfriend & of cos his teachers were there to witness this noteworthy moment of his life.
