Was doing a little revision and recalling last week's lesson about Caravaggio and a new discovery David Hockney made about him.

It's intriguing.

Lets look at this masterpieces of Caravaggio.

Supper at Emmaus (1600-01)

Compare the sizes of the fruits in the bowl and the outstretched hand of the man in the extreme right.

Something to ponder.

The Doubting of St Thomas (1600)

Look at the direction of the eyes of the man in the foreground.

Lets deliberate.

These observations were made by Hockney.
BRILLIANT!

Did Caravaggio use optical devices in his work?
Thats the question!

Are Renaissance artists as articulate as we thought they were?
Well..
