It was the annual run again..
Decided to take part in it for the first time , cos i was always down for some sort of duty in previous years.
There were only 6 of us in the Men's Open category and there were only 5 medals.
We were joking at the starting line that the 5th and 6th postion runner would have to come in together to share the last medal..haha.
Anyway...was at the 6th position throughout the run.

Slow & Steady Kahlo!

Run Kahlo Run! ...run!
I could still see the 4th runner and 5th runner ahead of me.
HOD PE was on his bike suddenly appeared behind me to encourage me & ensure that i did not collapse half way..

Run Kahlo Run!...& I took over the 5th runner.
Encouragement from the students was also very encouraging.
Met colleagues taking a leisure slow walk on the same route.

"Run Kahlo Run! You're no.5!", cheered Miss Tan.
Tho' exhausted i was determined to make it to the finishing line.

Well....i was flabbergasted upon reaching the ending line when i was given the 6th position tag when there was another colleague right behind me.
I thot there were only 6 of us, right at that moment it looked like there was a ghost runner.
I dun remember anyone ran past me, neither did the runner ahead of me.

Baffled!
I was in puzzlement!

The 5th-placed winner was also curious who was ahead of him, yes that ghost runner who came in 4th!

Well..all the mysteries have been answered.
The ghost runner has ran the women's route. YES!
No, he did not run past 3 runners..
No, our HOD didnt even see him run the men's route.

When my name was called as the 5th winner i thot..the mistake had been rectified and the ghost runner has owned up to his own folly..
However i was wrong, it was the announcer making an embarrasing mistake..
I was embarrassed too.

However, i strongly feel that someone needs to put a right to this wrong..the ghost runner must owned up!

ITS NOT ABPOUT THE MEDAL!
ITS ALL ABOUT INTEGRITY!!
